Word of the Day

When people are criticized or insulted they might exclaim, 'I couldn't believe my ears! It made me sick.' There are words that can indeed be perceived as real poisons, but why let them enter you? No words must make you lose your peace and light. You may say it is impossible not to be disturbed or hurt by certain negative remarks. When someone speaks to you, obviously you hear them; but inwardly you could very easily shut their words out. You don't have to take poisons in. So take care to prevent them from entering you; and if you were not able to, immediately try to neutralize them to make them easy to absorb. Take the example of a tree. What does it do when you put manure around its base? It carries out all the necessary secret transformations it knows, and in exchange for the disgusting...

Word of the Day

Like chemists, alchemists work with an element they call 'salt'. But what they call salt and what they call mercury and sulphur have nothing in common with the chemical substances of the same name. Only the correspondences between them are the same: just as salt is the product of an acid and a base in chemistry, it is the product of sulphur and mercury in alchemy. Sulphur must be seen as the masculine principle which manifests as our intellect and on the plane above, as our spirit; mercury represents the feminine principle, our heart and higher still, our soul. And salt, our will, represents the balance that should ideally reign between the two. Will is expressed through actions: through their actions, humans reveal the extent to which they have been able to create harmony between their...

Word of the Day

There is a warning sign to be seen in the fact that more and more people, especially the youth, are turning to drugs. It is the human soul trying to make its needs known: for it is suffocating and drugs are a means to free itself. Apparently, this 'opium' that is religion, was supposed to have been banished? Well, we now have marijuana, heroin, cocaine and so on. Is this preferable? The soul needs the infinity of space. And when it feels limited and smothered, it seeks whatever means it can to free itself. Alcohol and drugs are examples of these means because they can push the soul out of the physical body and momentarily give it an illusion of freedom and space. But this is only an illusion because drugs are just a material element given to the body. And it is the soul that needs to free...

Thought of the Day

Many people say they have found meaning in their lives thanks to love, others thanks to power, study or to life's pleasures. Yes, maybe. But in reality, human beings can only truly find the meaning of life in work – work dedicated to a divine goal. This work makes them beneficial to humanity, to the point that during their sleep, beings of light caring for our planet invite them to take part in their councils. Initiatic Science reveals the mysteries of human beings to us and teaches us about their spirits and souls and about the nature of their activities and powers. Once you understand this, you will know that the only thing you can count on is this work that you have decided to undertake for your improvement and for the good of the entire world. The day you can truly place this work...

Word of the Day

All spoken words are like a rocket travelling through space and on its way it releases forces and awakens entities. If you regret having spoken badly about someone, make amends by saying something nice about them. But hurry, because the more time passes, the less your good words will have the power to neutralize your negative ones: for since you said them later, they have been recorded in a different layer of the atmosphere and the layers are superimposed. There is a means that is still more powerful than speech: that of thought. But another problem arises: thought and speech belong to two different planes. Speech belongs to the physical plane, like a wave that moves through the air; while thought belongs to the etheric plane. But try all the same. If you have unknowingly said some unfair...

Quote of the Day

Immutable laws govern the universe created by God and make it work. As such, human beings who are part of this universe must always study these laws and seek to better understand them and abide by them. They suffer due to the difficulties they encounter on their path; but these difficulties are also a source of riches for them because they make them surpass themselves. One may often wonder why the Lord does not spare the righteous. Because he loves them. His love brings them growth and fulfilment; they simply need to ask themselves how they can use their suffering to improve themselves. You must not seek suffering of course, but when it appears, do not try to escape it, for through suffering you progress. And there is always progress to be made so you may go further and rise higher. Omraam...

Word of the Day

The number 6 represents animals and the number 5 represents human beings. When human beings stand with their arms and legs spread out, they fit in the shape of a five-pointed star, the pentagram. The 5 thus represents humans who have rid themselves of their animal nature which is symbolized by the tail; and they must bring the 5 alive in them by working with the five virtues of the pentagram: wisdom, love, truth, kindness and justice. It requires great effort to evolve from an animal to a human, from the 6 to the 5, because human nature is still so close to the animal nature with all its instincts and appetites. We all drag our animal past along with us: cunningness, brutality, cruelty, voracity and sensuality, and we will never be able to rid ourselves of it completely. But each one of...

Word of the Day

A true spiritual Master does not turn their back on sinners and criminals. Like a tree that transforms phloem sap from the xylem sap which rises from its roots, a spiritual Master draws energies from uncultivated and disinherited people and criminals and transforms and redistributes them in the form of purity, light and love. Beings of great purity know they can frequent all kinds of people and social groups without being afraid of being soiled by others. Their love is stronger than anything and it is this love that makes them capable of transforming humans. Therefore, contrary to what too many people believe, avoiding sinners and the weak is not a sign of evolution. Obviously, love and the desire to help others do not suffice to tear people from their vices or weaknesses. How often have...

Thought of the Day

Thanks to scientific and technological progress, humanity has gained significant power over matter, and we can therefore say that the past century has surpassed all others before it. However, the material world now fascinates our contemporaries and has a hold on them to the point they lose sight of the realities of the spiritual world. Only their physical eyes are open and they seek whatever they can to satisfy their curiosity or their interests. It is as if their inner eye, the eye in the subtle regions of their being, is struck with blindness. A good inner vision of things can only be acquired through purity. This is why our teaching stresses the importance of a pure life, on the physical plane and also on the psychic plane. Human beings' destiny depends on the clarity their inner eye,...

Thought of the Day

When a project means a lot to you, if you wish to be well prepared and equipped to bring it to fruition, don't tell everyone about it beforehand. Start by putting it into action, for you will have plenty of time later to make it known it and comment on it. 'Why these precautions?' you might ask. Because there are dark entities around you and within you that are ready to put obstacles in your way using your family, friends, work colleagues and neighbours, and you will meet with great difficulties, or simply fail. Not to mention those who, apparently with the best of intentions, will try to discourage you by saying: 'But do you think it's worth the trouble?' Shouldn't you rather leave that for others to do?' So, as far as possible, wait until some of your good plans have begun to be realized...

Quote of the Day

In the Emerald Tablet, Hermes Trismegistus reads a mysterious sentence: 'Its father is the sun and its mother the moon; the wind has borne it in its body, and the earth has nourished it.' With its light, the sun gives the seeds; the moon is the ether that reflects and sends back the light; the wind carries the seeds; and the earth: we must first nourish ourselves with the sun's rays to then in turn nourish them, just as a mother feeds her child. Because we must also give something of our own substance to the sun's rays so they may grow and develop in us. Each morning we receive the sun's light, warmth and life, and we must preserve them, reinforce them and feed them until the following day so that they may go deep within us. Whether we are men or women, we are like a mother in whom...

Quote of the Day

Nobody would venture into the abysses of the earth or the depths of the seas without the right equipment or sufficient preparation and training. But when it comes to descending into the depths of their own nature, people think it is easy and without risk. However, that is where the greatest dangers lie, and to avoid them, you must prepare and equip yourselves by rising up to the regions situated above your consciousness and self-consciousness – to the regions of the super-consciousness. Anyone wanting to explore the subconsciousness must first rise on high, because it is up there in the higher world that they will acquire knowledge about the lower worlds and the entities living there. They must also develop purity and self-control so as to form an aura of light around themselves to protect...

Thought of the Day

God is infinite and vast, and he permeates the entire universe with his presence; each one of us is an infinitesimal part of Him. But so many people complain that God does not hear them or answer them. And they say that since he is deaf, why should they continue to turn to Him. Well no, God is not deaf, but these people have a shell so thick that his presence, light and love cannot reach them. All communication routes have been blocked by the layers of impurities they have formed with their thoughts, feelings and acts. If they work to purify themselves until their subtle bodies become receptive, the communication will one day be restored and the presence of the Divine will overwhelm them. Just as God lives in us, we also live in God. When humans will be able to understand God in this...

Thought of the Day

By simply glancing at the structure of a human body and the way it functions, we discover with what ingenuity and wisdom Cosmic Intelligence created it so that we may make it the spokesperson of our spirit. Our spirit and our body are not separate from each other. Our spirit's main role is to work on our body, and then, thanks to our body, to work on the entire earth, for the earth is, in a way, an extension of our own body. Most human beings appear to have no idea what they are here in this world for. Yet, deep down within themselves they know; they know that they are here to use the power of their spirit to create. Cosmic Intelligence has etched this programme in them. But because they are caught up in the constraints of matter, they forget and they leave this life having destroyed more...

Thought of the Day

We receive so much from a simple inner movement of gratitude for the life we have been given. This movement of gratitude goes far beyond a mere feeling. The moment we intend to give thanks, this feeling of gratitude starts to act, it does not remain passive. According to the law of affinity, its vibrations attract impressions, feelings and inspirations of the same nature. We then receive all the blessings thanks to this one small movement: we thought to give thanks. Someone might say, 'But I am unhappy, sick and poor, so I cannot thank.' Of course they can, for even if they are unhappy, if they think hard, they will find at least one reason to be grateful. Everyone must be grateful for what they have and for what they don't have, for what brings them joy and for what brings them sorrow. This...
